The Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Fisheries raised the 2020 quota for the Northeast Atlantic saithe fishery, echoing advice from the International Council for Marine Research (ICES).

The total quota was set to 171,982 metric tons, which is a 15 percent jump from 2019 and in line with the stability rule that prevents major changes and ensures stability between years.

The fishery in the Northeast Atlantic is managed by Norway without negotiating with any other countries.
